Final Reminder

Dear Authors and Delegates:

FUZZ-IEEE 2007, Imperial College, London, UK

This is a final note to remind you of several practical matters concerning your attendance at the conference:

  1. There will be a wireless hotspot area at the conference. We encourage you to bring your notebook/PDA with wireless communication capability. To enable conference wireless internet access, register NOW at: http://www.fuzzieee2007.org/register2.php

  2. The conference banquet and the Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 25 July 2007. If you have registered in full or have purchased a banquet cruise ticket then please have a look at the meal types on offer. Those delegates who would like the Vegetarian option please complete the Vegetarian Meal Option Request Form NOW at: http://www.fuzzieee2007.org/register3.php

The deadline for this is Wednesday July 11th.

If you intend to bring any child(ren) with you, you should email hani@essex.ac.uk before Thursday July 12th. Please note that the cruise company insists that the children must be supervised by you at all times while on board, and that no chairs or meals will be provided for them unless a banquet ticket has been purchased.

  3. If you haven't made a reservation for your accommodation you may like to do so as a matter of urgency. You can find relevant information at: http://www.fuzzieee2007.org/accommodation.php

  4. The up-to-date conference programme can be found at: http://www.fuzzieee2007.org/sessionsFinal.html

  5. Registration at the conference will start at: 8.30am Monday July 23rd.

The directions to the conference venue and the registration desk are as follows: The nearest Underground station to the venue (Imperial College) is South Kensington. You can access the conference registration desk through Imperial College's main entrance at Exhibition Road. The registration desk will be located in the concourse of the Department of Mechanical Engineering which is just round the corner from the main entrance concourse. See the map here and here

  6. There will be a conference reception which will take place concurrently with the poster session on the evening of Tuesday July 24th.

  7. We'd like to use this opportunity to invite you to consider participating in the FUZZ-IEEE 2007 Car Racing Competition:

    http://cswww.essex.ac.uk/staff/lucas/fuzzieee/FuzzyRace.html

This is a point-to-point racing competition with a simple physics model. It's easy to enter, but challenging to win. All submitted entries must involve some aspect of fuzzy systems or fuzzy control (evo-fuzzy or neuro-fuzzy hybrids are fine). There is, of course, a cash prize!

To help you get started, on the website you'll find the code for a partially complete fuzzy controller (thanks to Christian Wagner, PhD student at the University of Essex for this code).

Have a safe journey to London, wherever you are from, and see you at the conference.
